Rita they probably only have book shops in the local language. I find this. I miss a book shop full of English books. It's hard to find things to read without that experience actually, browsing online just isn't the same.

Proper teabags
Fruit pastilles
Crisps in lots of flavours
English cheese like Cheshire
Radio 4
Mild climate
Not much bureaucracy though I think that has changed since I lived overseas and we have a lot more of it now

And the sense of belonging, even though I spoke the language fluently it was tiresome for my key characteristic to be "foreign"

Nothing really, I can get crisps/marmite/digestives/shortbread etc., where I am. Most are available in the local supermarket, if not, many of the Asian shops sell them (the remnants of the British empire). Hate baked beans and not keen on strong tea with or without milk.

Actually, thinking about it more, a decent curry that I don’t have to cook myself, maybe cheese and onion pasties and proper potatoes.

For the TV I can get a lot on Netflix, Prime etc.

I suppose that with time I have integrated more. If I’m going foreign food shopping I’m more likely to look for French, German, Greek items than British.

I certainly don’t miss the weather. 300 days of gloom. Much rather have the sun.

When I was in Australia I missed mud too. And daisies.

I also missing the swearing and British cynicism. I find my fellow Canadians too sincere for my comfort zone and swearing tends to be done almost solely in anger versus exasperation or just to add a soupçon of colour to things.

Agree with this. Canadians are generally lovely but I do miss moments of shared exasperation with a muttered 'fuck's sake' and accompanying eye roll 😄

I miss the variety of food in UK supermarkets - M&S sandwiches, really good fresh pizzas, 10 different types of garlic/cheese/tomato bread, big selection of pâtés, reasonably priced cheese, decent chocolate, proper Easter eggs, selection boxes, Fry's Chocolate Cream, cherry Pepsi Max, Quavers, Percy Pigs, M&S swiss rolls and cheese scones, ready made fresh desserts (tiramisu, 10 different fresh cheesecakes, profiterole stacks etc.), Cadbury's Pots of Joy, Dairylea cheese slices... Miss all of that!
