Tooth hurting after a check up

I went for a check up yesterday and the dentist informed me I needed two fillings on my right side Which I’m booked in for in two weeks time. Had no problems at all apart from Abit of sensitivity. He used the air pressure gun on the tooth (not sure why?)

Anyway this evening my tooth is killing me. All under my eye is sore and it hurts so much to even touch it with my tongue.

I’m going to need a root canal aren’t I?!

I’m absolutely terrified of the dentist. I’m actually falling asleep but can’t shut off as I’m having a panic 😩😭😭

My teeth always hurt after a check-up, and the cold air from the gun makes it worse (I have very sensitive teeth) If you do need a root canal don't panic-people make them out to be much worse than they are. At your first appointment they will numb the tooth and extract the nerve. After that there's nothing left to hurt. You then have a follow-up appointment where they refill it.

I had a checkup a couple of weeks ago, all fine. But my teeth on one side have been aching ever since. I think it's pretty common.

Darkside I had that after my checkup too. Was terrified as all I could think was 'what if its that metallic taste you get when you're pregnant?'. And I'm in my mid 40s so I really really wouldn't have wanted that Grin
