Hi all!! I’m almost 10 weeks pregnant and counting down the days to my 12 week scan!! I just wanted to ask if this is a normal symptom - once or twice a day I get really hot, red cheeks! Normally lasts about half an hour or so and then returns to normal colour and temperature. Every time I try and ask Dr Google it tells me I have slapped cheek syndrome and side effects that fill me with terror!! Anybody else get random hot cheeks?! Thanks in advance Blush

Should just add, I feel fine!! Sometimes a little bit hot and tingly but not ill, no sickness or diarrhoea, no rash, maybe a slight headache but I have had that pretty much daily since 5 weeks!!

You need to have your blood pressure checked and see your gp re the headache.

Thanks for your reply. Had blood pressure checked several times at routine appointments and always come back fine. Midwife has said headaches are quite common in early pregnancy due to hormones so hoping that’s all okSmile

Hot flashes and night sweats don't just appear during the period before menopause, they may also affect women in early pregnancy. In a 2013 study in the journal Fertility and Sterility, more than a third of women reported having either hot flashes or night sweats during pregnancy.
