I clean it all the time and it always comes back!!

Are the drawers made of solid wood or veneer?

From Ikea (hemnes) and I think it’s solid wood?

Because it's such a straight regular patch I'm sure it's not mould. Could it be a flaw in the staining process ?

I'd ask IKEA .Is there similar on the bottom drawer ?

If you enlarge the picture, the whole drawer looks as though it's either faced with strips of veneer or maybe it's made from strips of wood glued together because it's very stripy and all the stripes are the same width as the marked area.

Tape marks?

I'd contact IKEA for advice, I think.

Could it be wax? If you get your fingernail into the wood grain does some of the white stuff flake off?

I've got a table in my house which is wood grained on top and I spilled candle wax on it. Even now months later it looks like yours does (although yours is an odd perfectly straight line though)

Am I the only one disappointed not to see a pair of pants 😳
