What is this song?!

I feel ridiculous even typing this with the scant details I have but I really want to find this song!

The only lyrics I can remember is the chorus of "I love you, I love you, I love you!"

It's a really happy, upbeat bouncy song that just makes me want to jump around and puts a big smile on my face.

It's a male vocalist.

Not a contemporary song - it used to come up on Grooveshark shuffle around 2014 but pretty sure it wasn't new then.

Any ideas?!

I'm going to regret biting, but... do you have any other details? Like what kind of beat does it have, what sort of genre is it, are there any recognisable instruments? Those have got to be the most well-used lyrics in pop, so it will need narrowing down.

I Love You by The Zombies?
Silly Love Songs by Paul McCartney?

Hairydilemma · 11/10/2019 22:03

It’s not a male but.. Natasha Bedingfield, These Words?

100PercentThatBitch · 11/10/2019 22:08

The Ordinary Boys?

coastergirl · 11/10/2019 22:09

Yep Natasha Bedingfield sprung to mind for me too. Fits everything you said except a male vocalist.

FredaFrogspawn · 11/10/2019 22:10

Michelle, My Belle by the Beatles?

Michelle, ma belle
These are words that go together well
My Michelle
Michelle, ma belle
Sont les mots qui vont tres bien ensemble
Tres bien ensemble
I love you, I love you, I love you
That's all I want to say
Until I find a way
I will say the only words I know that you'll understand
Michelle, ma belle
Sont les mots qui vont tres bien ensemble
Tres bien ensemble
I need to, I need to, I need to
I need to make you see
Oh, what you mean to me
Until I do, I'm hoping you will know what I mean
I love you
I want you, I want you, I want you
I think you know by now
I'll get to you somehow
Until I do, I'm telling you so you'll understand
Michelle, ma belle
Sont les mots qui vont tres bien ensemble
Tres bien ensemble
And I will say the only words I know that you'll understand
My Michelle

Michelle, by The Beatles?

PennyNotSoWise · 11/10/2019 22:11

Lol, snap Freda Grin

Fleurygirl · 11/10/2019 22:13

Michelle, Ma Belle, The Beatles?
Oldie but goody, and definitely has that "I love you, I love you, I love you" line in it!!

LoseLooseLucy · 11/10/2019 22:13

I was also going to suggest Michelle.

Fleurygirl · 11/10/2019 22:13

Lots of cross posts there!!

ChicCroissant · 11/10/2019 22:14

The Beatles also came to mind, although also (at a push) Bad Manners, Special Brew? 'I love you, yes I do'

Will0wtree · 11/10/2019 22:30

This?

At the end he just repeats that phrase.

Synecdoche · 11/10/2019 22:44

You are all too good for trying but unfortunately it is none of these!

In terms of the vibe @FatherFintanFay it's the kind of song I'd imagine hearing at a carnival. Maybe some brass?

I'm wracking my brains.

OP posts:
Synecdoche · 11/10/2019 22:46

Not as guitar-y as the David Cassidy @Will0tree and the vocalist has a bit more oomph to his voice.

Definitely a male vocalist for those suggesting Natasha Bedingfield!

And the rhythm is more... "I love you (beat) I love you (beat) I love you (beat) than IlovdyouIloveyouIloveyouuu.

converseandjeans · 11/10/2019 22:49

Sam Cooke I Love You for Sentimental Reasons

Synecdoche · 11/10/2019 22:50

Maybe the artist or the song has the word Sunshine in it? And maybe 5?

OP posts:
Synecdoche · 11/10/2019 22:53

@converseandjeans It's not that but that's a gorgeous song Smile

Mumthedogsbeensick · 11/10/2019 22:53

Bad Manners - Special Brew?

Synecdoche · 11/10/2019 22:58

@mumthedogsbeensick I thought it was that for a second! But sadly not but it's the closest yet...

The 'I love you bit' is definitely only in the chorus, not at the beginning...

Google tells me Ronnie McDowell song I Love You, I Love You, I Love You. I'm not listening to it though Grin

IHateBoswell · 11/10/2019 23:03

m.youtube.com/watch?v=1gfqf43_Mas

Continuing the Bad Manners theme, My Boy Lollipop.

Synecdoche · 11/10/2019 23:03

@imnottoofussed Google gave me the same and Google is wrong. Nothing to do with the poor quality of information I'm feeding it Wink

OP posts:
ZootSuit · 11/10/2019 23:06

I can only think it’s got to be I love you by the Ordinary Boys... surely!?

Synecdoche · 11/10/2019 23:06

@ihateboswell Not that one but happy to listen to it - love that song!

The one I'm thinking of is less ska-y...

OP posts:
IHateBoswell · 11/10/2019 23:06

Although they sing Girl, not Boy.
