Headaches, pains, aches all over, guys rumbling but can't eat, cold and shivery but warm.

It's bloody horrible.

I had this a couple weeks ago. I took regular painkillers, echinacea and drank lots and lots of chamomile tea. Even though it was shit and I felt really run down, it only lasted about a week which was good as I had a baby shower to attend.

carriemathisonshandbag · 11/10/2019 20:55

I have this too. Started today with sore throat and achy all over. I'm boiling hot and have zero appetite. To make matters worse I might still potentially get the D&V bug that both DDs and DN have had this week. I have DD2s birthday party on Sunday and might have to cancel.

SprinkleDash · 11/10/2019 20:58

Either something is going around or I have the plague! 🤒

fishonabicycle · 11/10/2019 21:00

I've had a throat like I've been gargling razor blades since Tuesday 😫 started coughing up hideous phlegm today too. Nice.

Dee03 · 11/10/2019 21:34

Although I haven't eaten for days I don't feel like I've lost a thing Confused all I've done is sleep

ASmallBoxofChocolateBunnies · 11/10/2019 21:38

Blimey, that is what I've got. Started Monday afternoon and still feel like I've been run over by a truck.

I knew there was something going around, but wow.

bakingdemon · 11/10/2019 21:40

I think I've got this too. My hands were shaking when I tried to hold a pen at work this week. And I had no idea my head could contain so much snot

JenniferM1989 · 11/10/2019 21:40

Yes and two other people that I work with have had it too. I got it three weeks a go and it took me a good week and bit to recover. I still felt a little crap going into the second week as well but have been ok this week.

Can not recommend sudafed enough for letting you get to sleep but my god, you get crazy dreams after taking it. I had a dream that my cat was making soup and put the dirty spoon back in the drawer and I was chasing him about the local community centre with said spoon in my hand 😲

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 12/10/2019 10:29

Hope everyone is feeling better this morning. I dont, but I do feel very moist. Sweat is running out of me.

And now I'm hot and cold. Feel shit. Throat still agony.

Goawayquickly · 12/10/2019 18:51

I feel worse than yesterday, unbelievable amounts of erm, snot.

YouSirOweMeOneNewHat · 12/10/2019 19:12

DD has had it all week, today I'd my first day full of it.

Sweating buckets, blocked nose, freezing cold, sore throat, headache, more snot than I thought possible.
Tired but couldn't sleep for the life of me last night because of my nose driving me mad.

Add that onto the hacking cough, the earache and muscle/joint aches (on top of a chronic pain condition) and I've had enough. Envy

BooseysMom · 13/10/2019 11:18

Oh dear God, it's struck! I posted a few days ago to say, oh it's nothing much, only lasts 2 days. Wrong!! That must have been the preliminary bit and yesterday it kicked in with shaky fever type symptoms (but strangely temp is on or below 37 the whole time Confused), everything aches, really sore throat, headache and feel sick. DS had something but shook it off in a day or two. I spent all day in bed yesterday..up today but can't leave the house. More time off work tomorrow which means it will be hellish when i get back Sad
How's everyone else feeling?

NoWordForFluffy · 13/10/2019 11:24

The nausea was hideous for two days for me. Then it subsided and I realised how bad the joint / limb aches and headache were!

My temp was like that. I felt feverish, but apparently had a normal temp.

Goawayquickly · 13/10/2019 11:43

Feel even worse today, I’m very sorry for myself. I’m so hungry too but no energy to make anything and not much in the house. Miserable today.

HappyHarlot · 13/10/2019 12:07
NoWordForFluffy · 13/10/2019 12:17

The good news is that I'm fully back to normal (other than a REALLY irritating post-viral cough) after a full fortnight. Though it was actually a bit longer really, as I had an unshiftable headache for 2-3 days before the main symptoms hit!

BooseysMom · 13/10/2019 12:50

@NoWordForFluffy.. yes that's the same as me. Achey joints. Can't even walk far without feeling faint. DH was put in charge! Just strange about the normal temperature.
I now have an even worse sore throat but the aching and shivering has subsided. Does this mean the hacking cough is next? Shock

@HappyHarlot.. lol Grin. Yes i don't recommend staying here for long unless you are already infected!!

NoWordForFluffy · 13/10/2019 12:52

I had to keep mainlining sugary food to keep upright! The number of near-faints I had was really worrying.

It's a horrible virus. Flowers

BooseysMom · 13/10/2019 13:01

Yes, horrible! Just like the flu but without the high temp. Glad you're feeling better now tho. Thanks for the flowers Smile

Myshitisreal · 13/10/2019 13:19

I'm 3 weeks in and still not back to normal. I could barely eat, definitely lost weight. No taste, chesty cough, bad aches and pains on top of chronic pain 😕, teerible headache and nausea during the height of it. Constantly hot and cold, sweating , shivering. I've been left with a snotty nose and a terrible cough and still don't feel anywhere near recovered. I bought a bottle of whiskey to make hot toddys. Crushed paracetamol, lemon, honey, cloves, whiskey, hot water. My sympathies to anyone suffering with this, honestly 🤗

CakeNinja · 13/10/2019 13:20

I am still suffering and it’s been 2 weeks. Have had the odd day here and there where I’ve felt relatively normal but still my ears are aching and my sinuses are blocked. Not helped by a migraine midweek too.
I’m on antibiotics as have a double ear infection and sinusitis but it’s still no better and although the migraine has shifted, I’m still very headachey. Also dizzy, was sick a couple of weekends ago and am generally so lethargic. I had a couple of days off when I was sick because it was accompanied by a rather unpredictable stomach and I couldn’t leave the toilet but I can’t take more time off again already, we’re only 6 weeks into the term!
Fortunately I’m still able to chomp my way through meals and snacks Grin

BooseysMom · 13/10/2019 15:18

@Myshitisreal.. that toddy you make sounds wonderful. Lemsips not working any more and my throat feels raw..i need something strong!
Hope you manage to completely shake it off soon.Flowers

@CakeNinja..i'm feeling the same about time off. Already had last week off when DS was ill and i thought i'd had it too ...until it really kicked in! I haven't had anything like this all year and really hoped i'd got away with it. What never fails to amaze me is the way DS shakes anything off in a few hours.. Me and DH? ..Weeks!
Get well soon Flowers

Myshitisreal · 13/10/2019 15:21

Make yourself one and get into bed or under a blanket. Be boozy mum 😂 xxx feel better soon

izzyb6488 · 13/10/2019 15:37

Im still suffering from the same sort of virus along with the rest of the family. Can’t shake this even though I have had this ongoing for the last 10 days. I thought that I had reached the end if it last Tuesday but it reappeared and now have a hacking stomach pulling cough on top of post operative stitches which isn’t nice Confused
