I’ve got colleagues in Manchester who have messaged to say the Arndale has been evacuated due to some stabbings, I’ve jst been on Twitter and it’s being reported a man has been detained by taser and four people have been stabbedSad

:O Fuck, this is awful

definitelyshouldknowbetter · 11/10/2019 12:20

It’s given me shivers thinking about those people, presumably just going about their day.

What is going on with Arndale?! This is after Friday there was another massive incident.

CheshireChat · 11/10/2019 12:23

Friday's

definitelyshouldknowbetter · 11/10/2019 12:28

So it looks like it started in the Starbucks in the arndale, some reports are saying two attackers but some saying one

I won't go into Manchester anymore. People scoff are me but I just can't. I'm only 12 miles away. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and families.

CheshireChat · 11/10/2019 13:35

Apparently there's 5 victims and counterterrorism is now involved Sad, I actually thought it might have something to do with what happened on Friday.

Comefromaway · 11/10/2019 14:00

Its very scary (I was in the old Birmingham Pallasades years ago when a man with a knife was running after people but didn't manage to actually stab someone) but you can't not live your life. Last year dd went into the centre of Manchester alone a few times whilst attending Holocaust Education briefings. I sometimes meet her there for shopping trips when she's finished college. Next year I am allowing ds and a small group of friends to go to London for the day.

The increase in drugs (mnokey dust is a big issue here) mental health issues and feelings of disenfranchisment are casueing the increase in incidents in both our city centres and other areas. Society is changing and not for the better but all we can do is be vigilant.

My thoughts are with all those involved. How terrible. Some dreadful speculating going on on twitter- I'm sure they will update when they know more.

LoveNote · 11/10/2019 14:42

How horrific!

Hope there’s no fatalities

definitelyshouldknowbetter · 11/10/2019 15:06

It’s not being reported at the minute that there is any fatalities, three people taken to hospital from what I can see and one treated at the scene

Aah THAT Arndale Centre. We thought it was the one near Putney..

It is getting worse and worse.

Skyejuly · 11/10/2019 17:26

Terrible.

Wanderingraspberry · 11/10/2019 17:49

www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/manchester-arndale-chaos-police-confirm-17036994 This happens last week in the same place but didn't seem to be reported much.

definitelyshouldknowbetter · 11/10/2019 17:52

Wanderingraspberry I hadn’t heard about last week until it came up when I googled about today.

It's just shocking. I believe it is now being reported as a potential terrorist act?

To think all of those people just going for morning coffee and this happens :(

We shouldn't stop living, but as a mum to a small DS, it is frightening to know this is the world we live in now

I believe the victims aren't fatal, but still...wishing them all a speedy recovery, and thoughts to the witnesses and staff

snottysystem · 11/10/2019 18:34

It's horrible, hope no one is seriously hurt although mentally how do you get over it?
