Reoccurring dream

Hello I keep having a reoccurring dream but in various forms and wondered what people thought of it.

Essentially I'm either a wizard, a fighter, a linguist etc someone where you have special skills or power. In my dream I'm totally in the role but when it comes to using my skills nothing happens. Sparks just fly out of my wand, I can't punch for toffee, I can't understand the language I'm being asked to interpret etc and I keep trying and trying then someone else comes in and takes over

It's so infuriating and I don't know what it means. If anyone interprets dreams or has any idea let me know Smile

Sounds like anxiety dreams to me :) Something in your waking life you're worried about not being good enough for or not knowing how to do? I used to have these kinds of dreams all the time before I learned to drive (at 31) and since there's been none of them (in 4 years).

Don't worry about it for now. It will get clearer in future. It's a message you will understand later in life. It could be sooner or much later but you will.

I think it could be one of two things. Either: you have impostor syndrome. You are presenting (at work or socially or even in the family) as capable and impressive but know deep down that you're underachieving.
Or it could be that you have strog skills that you are squandering right now so they are becoming ineffectual and you're starting to doubt ever regaining mastery over them.

Either way, I think it's a sign you want to up your game in a certain area that matters to you.

Anxiety dreams!
My most common one is needing to catch a flight and being sent from gate to gate and always nearly missing the plane... so frustrating!!

I probably should have said I'm a first time mum going back to work after nine months next week. I wanted to stay off for a year but finances didn't allow it

Thank you for your replies

I would say lack of confidence in yourself and needing someone to show you the way.

I get the 'Freshwater you are so disorganised' dream. I am busy. I need to make a phone call. Whatever numbers I press I get them in the wrong order. I never get to make the call and the person at the other end has long gone.
