Hi, firstly i would like to apologize before you read this it is half rant half ask for advice!

I took this job in December of last year as a trainee as it was my first real job, before that I was partying hard doing seasons in Ibiza!

In my interview, I explained I did have a qualification in law and business and that id never had a real office job, so I would say I was open and 100% honest about my capability from the very get-go. I was told that i would receive training and i was not to worry it would all come in time, so a week later i had a phone call to say my interview had stood out to them describing it as outstanding.

a week later i was brought into the office and got told where my desk was and introduced to the people around me. Let me just tell you i was so nervous and it was totally out of what im used to, but everyone was really nice and made me feel ok. so i was brought in to do marketing for the company - my first day i was told i needed to learn the system which they used and i was told to sit by this man called rob and he would help with any questions that i had! OMG, any questions??? id never saw this system being used i had every question in the world

About 3 weeks had past and i was still sitting my this rob but i was doing sales which i couldn't understand!? and still had no training given to me

i was brought into the meeting and it sounded like they didn't know what they should do with me- they then brought a mentor that was going to sit with me as they said that they had no knowledge of marketing which is fair enough. anyways i seen this lady about 3 times before they decided she was too expensive and told me that they would buy an online course which i would have to sit and listen to.
i mean i am no expert but this online course which they had brought was soo American nothing was relevant...

i never got told what work i had to get done i spent my 9 hour day trying to look like i was busy which is hard work trust me!

this one day i got a phone call from my boss and was told to complete 3 marketing campaign which they could use on their social media by the end of the day now this was exciting for me and i worked hard on it and i was over the moon to be busy for the day! when i had finished i had spent them over to my boss within seconds he was on the phone telling me there were just got good enough which is fair enough although i had shown them to my work colleague and they all said they were really good and i was proud of them but you know some people just don't like them do they - he could not offer any advice and just told me to refer back to my online course!

to make a long story shorter i was taken of marketing and asked if i wanted to try sales i was getting to point where i would do anything to be busy so i agreed what i didn't know was that i was wanted to ship me off to a different branch when i got there i was not doing sales at all a lot of the time i was folding and putting away clothes i was so unhappy and make it clear that i didn't want to do it - later on i found out that i was pregnant and the more pregnant i got the harder it was standing for 9/10 hours a day with no chair -

i have resonantly been moved back down to my office where i started and still have no idea what my job and still have not had any type of training i know that the company have lost two of their biggest contracts and they have made it clear that they need to make cutbacks

we were all brought in to a one to one meeting one at a time when it was my turn i was told that they feel like i am not giving any output to the business which i agreed with and say it was because im unsure what my job is and don't know what i should be doing in a day i was given a letter and told to come to a meeting at four the next day when i opened the latter at my desk they had only given me a capability letter which basically said they don't feel like im capable to do my job!!!!!
The outcome of the meeting was they were going to work closely with me to help me understand more the meeting was 2 weeks ago and i have not seen my boss since

Please any advice im 20 weeks pregnant and just want advice should i take my mat leave early just to get out? what should i do

I think you need to contact ACAS and see if you can speak to a specialist employment adviser. You may be able to access one via your local Citizens Advice or law centre/uni if you have one. I am assuming you don't have any insurances? If you do you may have legal cover. Sometimes you also get this as a benefit through work?

Essentially, you need to go back to them preferable in writing detailing what you have outlined ie that you have not received the training promised and have since been moved into a role and your responsibilities have not been outlined. Keep it calm and factual. No exclamation marks!

They need to be careful as you are pregnant and that is a protected characteristic that they are not seen to dismiss you because you are pregnant.

Otherwise it's quite easy for them to dismiss you if you have been there less than two years.
