Which would you choose? Only those two, no others in the running.

Wicked is awesome not seen the other.

Comefromaway · 10/10/2019 14:08

Both great shows, but Come from Away is absolutely outstanding (as you may guess from my username)

The best show I've ever seen and I've seen a lot of shows.

Sirzy · 10/10/2019 14:09

Not seen the other but I love wicked

Apolloanddaphne · 10/10/2019 14:10

I think a decision has been made...

Wicked has been on in the West End for 13 years plus has toured a few times so statistically more people will have seen it.

Wheras Come from Away only opened in February

jay55 · 10/10/2019 14:17

Love Come from Away, can't stand Wicked.

Apolloanddaphne · 10/10/2019 14:19

We chose Come from Away! DD2 has seen Wicked and loved it, but i have never been fussed about seeing it. DD1 was happy to see either. On balance we decided a new show would be good.

Im going to see Come From Away tonight. Everybody i know who has seen it loved it.
I would go to Come from Away, Wicked has been running a long time , i saw it when dd was 9 and she is 22 now! and probably still be running and easier to get tickets for.

Comefromaway · 10/10/2019 14:21

Just make sure you go to the loo before the show starts!

I've seen lots of shows and seen many standing ovations but I have never before witnessed an entire audience jump to its feet at the exact same moment as happened at CFA.

Gusthetheatrecat · 10/10/2019 14:41

That’s exactly what happened when we saw Come From Away (which I was just going to recommend). Everyone rose up all together for a standing ovation as if we’d been electrified. Amazing.

Celeriacacaca · 10/10/2019 14:54

Neither - Wicked screechy and just boring and CFA not at all remarkable. Nothing memorable about it and I couldn't wait to leave - and I love musicals.

Apolloanddaphne · 10/10/2019 15:54

I think on balance I have seen more positive reviews for CFA than poor ones so I am pleased we have booked it.

Come From Away is the best show I’ve ever seen, musical or otherwise. Incredible

CatherineVelindre · 10/10/2019 16:19

You won't regret it.
Come From Away is one of the best things I have ever seen. So many goosebump moments...

"You are here
At the start of a moment
On the edge of the world
Where the river meets the sea
Here
On the edge of the Atlantic
On an island in between
There and here"

It is a beautiful beautiful show.

Dowser · 10/10/2019 16:50

Hated wicked

Comefromaway · 10/10/2019 17:24

Welcome to the fog
Welcome to the trees
To the ocean and the sky
And whatever's in between
To the one's who've left
You're never truly gone
A candle's in the window and the kettle's always on
Where the sun is comin' up
And the world has come ashore
If you're hoping for a harbour then you'll find an open door
In the winter from the water
To whatever's in the way
To the ones who have come from away
Welcome to the rock!

HairyPotter · 10/10/2019 17:28

Come from away. I took the dds to see it and went back the following night on my own (they were at Wembley) because it was so good. I’ve seen Wicked at least 6 times and I love it, but CFA is one of the best things I’ve even seen.

parietal · 10/10/2019 17:33

wicked has really bad sound quality if you have the cheap seats. we couldn't hear any lyrics, just screeching.

Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe · 10/10/2019 17:35

Can only comment of Wicked as I havent seen the other but to get lost in the emerald city is just magical...I never get tired of it.

LyndaLaHughes · 10/10/2019 17:42

You won't regret picking "Come from
away". I've seen Wicked twice including on Broadway and it is a great who but CFA is in a league of its own. One of these best shows I have ever seen. Love the Irish influence to the music too. You will love it.

bruffin · 10/10/2019 22:03

Sitting on train after Come From Away I sobbed from make me a channel of your piece. Its such a joyous show. We all loved it.
I do have a soft spot for Wicked. I saw it in preview with Idina Menzel and have always meant to see it again .

Apolloanddaphne · 10/10/2019 22:22

Sounds like i may need to take tissues with me!

FreeButtonBee · 10/10/2019 22:37

Wicked is much much much much better. Come from away is great if tou’re 50 something from the shores down for afternoon tea and a show. It’s pretty cringe (although some good staging which I always enjoy)
Mathilda is better though

Comefromaway · 10/10/2019 22:49

Well my kids are 15 and 17 and they loved it.

Apolloanddaphne · 10/10/2019 22:50

I am 50 something! I'm sure my 20 something DDs will enjoy it too. One of our favourites is Jersey Boys. Surely that makes them honorary 50 somethings? Grin
