Anyone have a folding Brompton?

If so how easy are they to fold and unfold?

I drive/cycle commute and am sick of hefting my hybrid into the boot.

Are they quite easy to put up and take down? Can I then just fit it under my desk in the office? They look pretty small.

Hello! Yes I have one, and I absolutely love it 😍 Bought a pre-owned one to see how I’d get on, and it was instant love. They’re just very fun to cycle, the engineering and design is 2nd to none. I figured if I didn’t like or use it, I could sell it on as they hold their value unlike the vast majority of foldies.

I’m actually getting another one on the Cycle to Work scheme which has a few more bells & whistles on it and it’s coming to France with me this summer

Ps., there are a million vids on YouTube showing you the fold. You get the hang of it really quickly- I can do it in seconds now 🙂

I know a woman who films herself unfolding it every day and posts it on Instagram. It looks very quick and easy!

Yes, they are great bikes, superb design and really well made. They hold their value well so you could always sell it if you didn’t get on with it. I used to keep mine under my desk to nip around campus on.

My house is “detached” but the corridor between the wall separating us from next doors garden is narrow so it’s a pain trying to get a bike through from the shed in the back.
So I just didn’t bother.
My brommie lives in the hall, doesn’t get in the way and is right there and ready when I want.
There’s a funny sense of community between Brompton owners that’s enjoyable if you want to engage in it, I hadn’t expected that.... it’s like driving a Mini or a classic car
Overall it is just fun. I’m waiting for my M6L in Flame Lacquer to be built - it will arrive in January Grin
