Why is it so hard to raise one eyebrow?

I saw someone say it's surprising that someone can't raise one eyebrow, and I laughed because nobody can really do that, so nobody would ever be surprised that someone can't. Raising one eyebrow is impossibly hard to do, of course. Though I'm sure all of you know how hard it is lol.

Don't worry OP, I can't raise either eyebrow either no matter how hard I try.

Ginkypig · 10/10/2019 13:55

Awd when that advert came out I used to do it too whenever it was shown Grin

I can raise both individually, I can also do the same thing with each side of my top lip (sort of like elvis but I can do either side) and I can make my boobs jump individually. And I can roll my tongue.

I think some people just have natural separate control over the muscles in each half of the body and some don't.
It's not something generally people can learn which is why it is either easy or very hard.

What I recently realised I can't do that everyone else can but I didn't know every one else could is bend my toes up (my big toe bends up/back but the rest of them don't) I can curl them but not the other way.

I can lick my nose, but not lift eyebrows independently.

FridayNightLightss · 10/10/2019 14:35

I've never managed it! Despite lots of trying even at school when I wanted to try and copy spock.

what a lovely life you must lead OP if this is the kind of thing you have to worry about

Hmm
AdalindMeisner · 10/10/2019 14:38

I can only raise my right eyebrow independently. The other side is just bloody lazy!

Drogosnextwife · 10/10/2019 14:39

I walk around with one eyebrow raised most of the time, no idea why, its just what my face does when left to its own devises.

AdalindMeisner · 10/10/2019 14:39

My eldest can do both independently and make them dance around just like the Cadbury advert!

Drogosnextwife · 10/10/2019 14:40

It's my left. I find it difficult to raise the right.

spiderlight · 10/10/2019 14:47

I can't do it either, @Femptress!

00Sassy · 10/10/2019 14:50

MN’rs everywhere pulling strange faces right now! Grin

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 10/10/2019 14:50

I can raise my left but not my right. I remember teaching myself to do it when I was at school...practiced for ages Grin
