Amsterdam with kids! Any advice?

We are off to Amsterdam with two 5 year olds and a baby in half term for a couple of days.
I am trying to make things a bit smoother by having restaurants organised beforehand (voice of experience 🙈) but I don’t know where to look yet as I can’t seem to decide what to go and see/do!
Any advice on what’s good? A boat trip maybe?
Very excited as I haven’t been there myself either.
All advice welcome!

Science museum is great.

Some really good parks too with play equipment to run off energy.

Mine loved going on the trams!

'Ripley's believe it or not' is great especially for kids. Several floors but there is a lift, and a small cafe on the top floor.

We took out a pedalo and went to some of the urban beaches and the zoo/ARTIS — it was high summer — and the science museum, Amsterdamse , some East India Ship museum where DS, then 5, could shoot water cannon. Excellent parks and playgrounds.

Look for a coffee shop with a creche

The Culture Trip and iamsterdam are great websites for research. They often write family articles.

We were there in the summer with 6 year old and 3 year old. We did a boat trip with Blue Boats which had a children's narration option which both DC loved. But (random tip) they struggled with keeping the 'in ear' type earphones that were provided in their ears, so if you have some wired over ear type headphones, take them along.

Also, a restaurant tip. If you are in need of a kid friendly stress free meal, I highly recommend the Happy Italy chain. Service is really fast, food is pretty decent for a chain (and cheap) and they have soft play! The one in Amsterdam is quite a way out of the centre though (although tbh trams were my DCs' favourite thing in Amsterdam so they didn't mind the trip!)

Def go to science museum, most of the zoo is nice too

DS, who was five when we went, adored the Pancake Bakery on Prinsengracht.
