I think it's excessive

It's probably excessive, but that doesn't mean it is unenforceable. It was unwise to sign that contract.

Can you talk to the landlady? If she likes you and understands your need to move, she may be willing to shorten the notice period if you agree to cooperate with viewings etc. If she doesn't like you she may be glad to see the back of you!
