Help! What to wear for graduation?

Can anyone with good dress sense help me?! No idea where to start. My gown will be black, and the hood part mid blue, white and red.

I'm a size 12 with big hips, so don't tend to suit structured shift dress types. Any help would be massively appreciated!

I'd recommend a blouse with buttons, so you can attach the toggle bit of the hood of your gown to one of the buttons.
My undergrad graduation 90% of the girls wore white blouses, smart skirts, and a variety of heels.

Post grad I wore office type trousers (it was cold) and the same blouse.

Don't stress, it's a really boring day. Wear something with buttons or you'll be getting throttled by your cape all day (they're designed with suits in mind, not dresses) and a low heel.

Whatever you want, surely.

I wore a short tartan skirt, black jumper, tights and DMs.

Almost everyone in my graduation wore a white blouse and black skirt/ trousers. No one really dressed up as the buttons on the blouse are useful for the gown and you can't really see what you wear anyway.
