Does Anyone Have Tinnitus?

I posted recently about excessive earwax but it turns out my ear problems are not being caused by that. I have had tinnitus in my left ear for a week & a half & it’s awful. Really bringing me down. My maternal Grandmother was very deaf & my Dad is too so I guess I could be inheriting their condition. It started really suddenly though. I didn’t have any hearing problems at all. At least the running water sound has gone but I now have a loud buzzing with some ringing. Waiting to have a hearing test then go from there. I cried when I got home from the surgery today as I was expecting to have my ears syringed & everything would be fine 😢

I had it mildly, was only aware of it when I went to bed and it wasn't really a big problem.

When I got my iron levels up it briefly became more of a problem as it would come and go which was more annoying than it being there all the time. After a while, with continuing iron supplements, it went away altogether and I haven't had it since.

🙋‍♀️ have it in both ears...left ear is worse, with a 20% hearing loss caused by the tinnitus. Definitely inherited it from my dad (cheers dad!).

To be honest it doesn't bother me so much now...it used to! I think I've just got used to it...some days are worse than others though, like if I'm very tired or stressed. Otherwise, I just block it out.

At night I use 'Sleep Sounds' on Alexa (I like the Thunderstorms one, but there's loads ) to give some white noise.
