I have to have my big toe nail removed. Has anyone had this?
I am shuddering.

Yes I have! Mine got ripped out when a friends horse stood on my foot and I reacted by shoving him off and it ripped the nail out.

When it grew back a little it was unsightly so I had a gel nail put on it at a salon but then as that grew out I bought a stick on big toe nail in a pack from eBay and stuck it on and painted it to match the other nails.

It looked real. I did it a few times until the nail grew back.

Yes when I was having chemo I stuck on fake nails and painted them until my nails grew back.

Had to have some spare ones in my bag mind to stick on in a hurry when they fell off unexpectedly. In the end I used super glue.

I used super glue too! I didn’t want to take a chance and have it fall off!

I had one for holiday it was done by the chiropodist a bit like acrylic.
Lasted bloody months it was cheap too, £15~

Blimey Queef, I wish I'd known about that when I was having chemo!

AuntieMarys · 08/10/2019 12:38

It will be done at the chiropodist. Just had injections in my toe to get a spike of nail taken out. No wonder I was in pain!

I had both big toenails removed and an acid on the nail bed to prevent re growth, i had over a year of ingrown toenails so they decided that was best, as there are the grooves of the nail bed it just looks like a stubby nail when painted.
Might check out that fake nail thing though @TheQueef :-)

What I had was called LCN (I think Grin I've had a sleep since) I was impressed by how normal and secure it felt, I only had a tiny stub of nail to attach it to.
It needs painting it was just yellow no French tip or owt but it lasted and I do like to trip up a few times each day.

I am googling. Some grim images
