2020 GCSE's - when are they finished?

This was our opportunity to shoot off when holidays are cheaper (the first time in about 12 years)

There's a good deal at the moment which we are looking at but school will not commit to a contingency day. A teacher friend has suggested that we will be fine to fly out on 27th June, according to a website (JQ something?)

School suggest that we will get the timetable before school breaks up for Easter. I'm concerned the really good deals will be gone by then (and who knows what might happen with the B word?) Obviously the very worst thing would be to book and find DS still has exams left to sit. Confused

These are the final dates according to JCQ. The ‘contingency date’ should be the absolute final date anything could happen.

Ooh lovely, that's what I'd seen too, I was just unsure whether JCQ was the final word!

That makes me very happy, if we fly out on the 27th it will be £700 cheaper than the following week and we miss prom Grin

I’m a teacher. JCQ are in charge of the examination process - you can trust them. For more reassurance/to be able to go earlier you can search all the different boards’ timetables online. There is a combined one usually, too, but I can’t find it at the moment. Look on those for your DC’s actual exams and it’ll tell you when they are. Some students finish significantly earlier than others due to their specific choices.

Thank you so much cardi Flowers

I considered looking individually but I have to book leave off extremely far in advance and by hook or by crook (I haven't quite had to sell a kidney) I've managed the week from the 27th onwards. I'm happy with that so won't rock the boat!
