I'm currently 30 weeks pregnant. Went to the pharmacy today who said I need to get advice or a prescription from a doctor. Can't get an appointment for a few days and they are getting worse. I'm in a lot of pain and trying to hide it esp at work Blush. Any tips/advice? TIA

I had this when I was pregnant. I called my doctors and explained, they sent an electronic prescription to my pharmacy while I waited. Might be worth calling in the morning and asking if they can do that?

Oh. Also, moist toilet tissue is your friend... patting not rubbing. I know. Sorry.

Send your OH to buy anusol with hydrocortisone suppositories. They are amazing and fine whilst pregnant but pharmacists like to be cautious.

Buy a pack of children's icepops.

Freeze and then wrap one in a piece of thin towel (I cut up a tea towel) before applying directly to the area. As it melts either throw it away and reapply another one or put it into a sealed freezer bag and refreeze ready to reuse.

Worked really well for me!
Just remember to not let anyone eat the icepops!!!!!

Anusol is fine when pregnant and works a treat! It actually says ‘suitable for use in pregnancy ‘ on the box if that puts your mind at rest.

You can buy suppositories at the supermarket. They do make a difference.

When you go to the loo, put your foot on a stool (google unicorn poo for a funny video to explain why).

I got a prescription from the GP after a phone consultation. I had them during pregnancy and they popped out quite spectacularly after birth but with treatment were much relieved after s fortnight).

I found sitting on a bouncy ball comfier than a chair.

Anusol worked well for me.

Also, and this is a bit tmi, but if you can feel around down there and feel bumps sticking out, try gently pushing them back inside (obviously wash hands really well before and after). That worked best for me.

The relief I felt when DD was born and the haemorrhoids vanished was immense - unfortunately I couldn't really share it with anyone!

Thanks everyone for all your tips! Currently on the way to work so will get some Anusol on the way.
