Cushion cover and zip I can't open!

Anyone have any ideas -
OH washed a cushion cover, turned it inside out and closed the zip beforehand. Since it came out the wash I cannot get the zip, which is obviously still inside out, open!
Other than unpicking one of the sides can anyone suggest how to open the zip?

Try pushing down gentle. on the curved part of the zipper mechanism with the handle of a teaspoon. If you can get it down a couple of teeth you can put the handle in the gap and push down a little bit more until you can get a finger in and use the puller to open it properly.

I've done the same many times when making cushions, and use the tip provided by @knittedfairies. Poke something narrow and tapered like a knitting needle thru the gap and into the eye of the zip.
Other way is pull sides od cover apart to give manoeuvrability, and try to pinch thr zip tab thru the fabric

Ah brilliant thanks for the suggestions will try them out!

Try feeling for the tab of the zip through the fabric. If you can get hold of it, you might be able to gradually pull it down bit by bit until you can get your hand inside.

Thank you @knittedfairies it worked! Took a good 30 min of wriggling with a skewer but I managed to catch the zip then it came down easily!

It might have been quicker to open up the side of the cushion...
