Pizza Express about to go into adminstration?

I've seen people talking about this on social media but can't find anything about it online. Anyone heard anything/got any links?

It's daft but I've got a real fondness for the place especially with money off from Clubcard vouchers

I've been wondering when this would happen tbh. The heavy discounting was a sign. The mid market has been saturated for years and has failed to reinvent.

That would be a shame. The service level varies quite considerably from branch to branch and they probably have too many, but I hope it doesn't go altogether as I really do like their pizzas.

I'd be so sad if it went. DD has had her birthday meal there every year since she was little and she's 22 now. And me and DH often nip in on a Saturday evening. Our local one is lovely and the staff are, too.

Noooo. It’s my favourite of all the chain restaurants and love meeting my mum there after work for their set menu offer they do each week

It does not surprise me. Excellent pizza restaurants are opening all the time. Pizza Express has not uped their game.

They are so brilliant with allergy requests, one of the few places i can trust. Really hope they stick it out!

Really nice pizzas but too expensive ... a family of four could easily spend 60 to 80 quid and still leave feeling hungry.

I go there fairly regularly and I really like it. Why can't Pizza Hut and their salad bar of doom go under instead?

I’m not surprised if true. The pasta dishes are disgusting microwaved food and the pizzas aren’t much better.

The service in our local branch has been appalling for about 4 years now, and I'm amazed they are still open. To be honest for the same price we can go to a nice Italian with authentic food and good service. I love pizza but won't mourn Pizza Express.

I've not heard anything but it doesn't surprise me, I've never understood its popularity anyway when there are so many great independant Italian restaurants serving better tasting and better value food

Good. I went there the other day for the first time in years. The food was disgusting and madly over priced. If I hadn't had two hungry kids with me I would have walked out.

Pretty much anywhere that pops up on the meerkat app has a banker dressed as the from reaper stood behind it imo. It stinks of desperation.

That's a shame. A friend ran one of the most successful as a franchise so had to sell it back. He opened his own Pizza restaurant which more than fills the gap for me.

Not every town has a lovely independent Italian restaurant with freshly cooked homemade food. Sometimes you need a reliable chain restaurant.

Dd and I were so excited when they introduced their vegan menu. I'll miss them if they go.
