Blimey - would love to know as I’ve got a few myself!

We haven't stayed in a hotel recenrly and haven't had friends round to stay over...

Bites are itchy after bath and have a little head on them... Have checked the NHS page on bites but nothing seems to be quite right...

Check for bed bugs - regrettably they can even be picked up on the tube.

Look on the mattress for black dots, particularly along the seams of the mattress.

If you have them, you need to act fast.

Could just be a random bug of course, I get bitten quite a bit and was paranoid it was bed bugs for a while.

I changed all beds today and checked. Could see nothing.

DD does tend to get bitten by anything bitey... but eek. Will check again tomorrow.

You need to check on the underneath seams and buttons of the mattress and all the nooks and crannies on the bed frame.

Thanks, @PencilsInSpace. Did that, turned mattress over, checked every seam and button. Nothing at all.

No more bites last night either.

Have hoovered all bed and washed bedding in hot and tumbled it just to be sure.
