Following Previous Earwax Thread - Getting Worried

I rang the surgery because the tinnitus in my left ear is getting louder. Got a call back with an appt for Tuesday so I guess they’re not unduly worried but I’m concerned that it may not just be due to excess earwax. I always thought you just got blocked ears with muffled sound. Perhaps I have loads of wax. Also, when I rest on my other ear that isn’t noisy I can hear every movement amplified eg when I’m lying on my pillow. Oh & if I cover my left ear as if to block out sound then let go, I get a twanging like a guitar string being plucked instead of the usual noise. Does any of this sound normal or should I be concerned?
P.S The sounds are mainly running water & hissing with the occasional whistle or ringing

My DH gets tinnitus and describes it just like that. His is due to wax.

He has my sympathy - it’s awful!

I didn't post on your last thread as other people had given the advice I was going to post.

I had the same problem a couple of months ago with the same symptoms plus the odd bout of vertigo and nausea. Everything is now all fine.

After getting syringed, my hearing was still on and off for a few days, which was worrying, so if you find that happens to you, don't panic.

It helps the syringing if you use the Ortex I think people advised you to use, beforehand.
