Hi, I'm not sure what I'm looking for on here just some advice or just for me to have a rant I guess!
On Monday I got one of my back teeth out at the top of my mouth.
For the past two and a half days I've been in excruciating pain. My left side of my face has swollen, my gums have gone a strange colour, there white spots all around my gums, the full left side of my face and mouth is in agony, the hole where the tooth was extracted from is full of puss and there is also two yellow spots on the top of my gums!
I've rang round every dentist no one could see me till Tuesday. I've rang 111 who were no help at all and just told me I need to wait it out till my Tuesday appointment.
I really don't know what to do I am in so much pain I can't eat sleep eat or drink😫😥

I was seen by my local urgent care then transferred to the big a and e.
The urgent care said they will want to take bloods too due to high temperature.
I can't believe not one dentist could see me😥

Where do you live OP? A dentist should definitely been the person to see you first, not a walk in centre and not A&E.
There should be provision on the nhs for this. You've been let down here.

Alicenwonderland · 05/10/2019 19:55

I'm so pleased they are helping you finally!! Hopefully you'll be pain free and sorted soon. Xxx

insomuchpain1 · 05/10/2019 20:17

I'm from the north east, I've been seen been told to be here for at least 6 hours or even maybe admitted depending on what the bloods come back as!
This would be so much easier if a dentist was available. They haven't even given me any pain relief😫!
Thank you everyone xxx

Are you still there, OP?

insomuchpain1 · 05/10/2019 23:54

Yes I'm still in hospital on a drip for fluids but not had no pain relief

HairyFloppins · 05/10/2019 23:57

Shocking you have not had pain relief!

A dentist could have had that dry socket cleaned out and packet hours ago,

Sorry you are suffering.

Biggie123 · 06/10/2019 00:22

Oh my god. Give the girl some bloody drugs.
I hope you get some soon OP. Sounds horrendous

insomuchpain1 · 06/10/2019 00:30

They have informed me that I will be staying the night and I'm still awaiting some pain relief! Thank you everyone and I hope everyone is okay xx

WOW. At last someone takes you seriously.

iMatter · 06/10/2019 06:34

Hope you are ok and have finally had some pain relief and help.

I agree with pp - the lack of urgent dental care is appalling and you really have been badly let down.

Janaih · 06/10/2019 09:07

why did they not give you any pain relief? is it because you'd already taken some?

CurlyhairedAssassin · 06/10/2019 10:03

How are things today, OP?

slipperywhensparticus · 06/10/2019 10:09

How are you feeling?

I had a dental problem (ok several because I'm scared of the dentist Hmm) she injected me with anaesthetic and I dozed off I did the same thing in labour one shot of pethadine and I was snoring

insomuchpain1 · 06/10/2019 12:28

Last night in the a and e department was so busy I didn't get any pain relief or even my bed till around half 2 this morning. I'm still on a drip hopefully being discharged tomorrow but will have to go straight to the dentist as the hole will need to be cleaned and packed.
I'm totally drained today 0 sleep still painful but
the pain relief has taken the edge off things. I can't believe there was 1 nurse between 6 patients last night😱
Thank you everyone Thanks💕

How are you today OP? Hope you manage to see the dentist!

3ormoreletters · 07/10/2019 11:54

I think you should go to your GP or local hospital's A&E department.
You have my sympathy :)

3ormoreletters · 07/10/2019 11:57

oops - i see the message I just posted is out of date!
glad u got help :)

insomuchpain1 · 07/10/2019 12:51

Finally got a dentist appointment for in the morning! I'm still in agony i have been taking morphine and codeine too take the edge off. Having a mouthful of water seems to be the trick as it more or less takes the pain anyway (until you spit it back out😢) only 1 more night to go! I don't have a clue what the dentist will do tomorrow though🤔
Thanks for checking in

FlowersToothache is the work of the devil.
I wouldn’t wish it on my worse enemy.

AtleastitsnotMonday · 07/10/2019 13:46

How did you get on with the dentist op?

PotterHead1985 · 07/10/2019 13:47

What did the bloods come back as? Are you still in hospital?

insomuchpain1 · 07/10/2019 14:08

Just had my discharge note from hospital, the infection is starting to become under control. Being sent home with codeine. metronidazole and cyclizine plus at the dentist at 10 in the morning!
Thanks for the advice everyone!💕
