Help! I am an avid fan of charity shops and yesterday bought a lovely skirt.. didn't notice anything unusual about it when trying it on in the shop or at home when a friend popped round for tea. So I always pop any charity item in the washing machine for a freshen up... To my horror when opening the machine the smell was horrendous. It appears the previous owner was a smoker. My wonderful skirt (and washing machine) now smells like it's been stuck in a room with 100 smokers... How can I get rid of this smell? I have used Dr Beckmann on my washing machine which has worked, but even leaving the skirt outside all night drenched in frabreeze it still smells bad.
Any ideas out there?
