Suspected kidney infection :( really scared and waiting for the doctor to call back for an appointment. Just want to be in bed asleep.

Anyone else up?

I had two kidney infections before. They're not nice but luckily mine was treated with AB's.

How are you feeling OP? Make sure you drink lots and lots of water, I know it’s not easy when it’s sore to pee. I’ve only got one kidney and get infections quite often, fluid intake is vital.

I'm up too. Are you scared of having to go to the doctors or the kidney infection itself?

I'm up too, stomach ache from stress I think, dealing with builder from hell for five months.

Kidney infections can get serious, you did right to call for advice. Do you have the classic flank pain? Trouble weeing?

I am up crying and waiting for ADT to turn up to fix our alarm but no response yet. We meant to be leaving for a family wedding in 2 hours.

Make sure you drink plenty and if you have high grade fever shivering. Vomiting you attend A&E or out of hours and have your urinalysis.

Just got back from the OOH doctors, thank you everyone for your support and sorry to hear some of you are up unwell or in pain also!

I got diagnosed with interstitial cystitis by the doctor on duty, got to have a confirmation examination by a urologist but he's pretty certain it's that as I've had recurrent 'UTI's' (aka the pain and awfulness of a UTI but not actually a UTI iyswim?).

No antibiotics needed as they won't do anything, back to ibuprofen and weeks in bed for me :( It's been 2 years of hell with bladder pain for me now.

Have you tried D Mannose op? I know people who swear by it.

OP please get checked out by someone who understands recurrent and chronic UTI.
The GP is giving you this diagnosis based on tests that don’t work. They are notoriously unreliable.
