ADT alarm- battery not working.

Tubelight2016 · 04/10/2019 23:08

I reported our faulty alarm battery to ADT last night and was promised someone will come today between 8-5pm. Later they called and said engineer will come after 8 pm tonight but I am still waiting despite so many phone calls.
We are going away for wedding tomorrow early morning and It’s stressing me out. So my question is can I replace sensor batteries myself? Or is there any other possible solution. Please help.

Can’t believe I am still waiting for ADT to sort out their mess. Just want to cry as we should be leaving in 2 hours and here I am at 3 am in the morning waiting for ADT engineers to fix our alarm. They just told me apparently only 1 person is on call to cover all over London emergencies,!!!

Shit happens 😰😰😰

Does it keep going off? Or is it just not working?

I do think you've blown it all out of proportion, I've not lived in a house with an alarm for 15 years (parents).
Why did you not go to bed/ sleep on the sofa keeping your phone on loud for if/when an engineer turned up. It's hardly an emergency, if it had been going off all day and night that would be a different matter

Tubelight2016 · 05/10/2019 04:23

I know it’s not an emergency. I booked it as a routines job on Thursday and was given Friday appointment.
Apparently Friday engineers past it on to an on call and it seems I will be waiting few more shifts before someone turns up .

We should be on our way to wedding venue at 6:30 am this morning.
I am waiting for local shop to open and get this fixed and leave for the wedding.

Won’t be waiting for them to ruin our weekend

Why are you waiting up all night to get ab alarm fixed ? Surely you just rebook for normal hours next week and dont use it until then ? Confused

Simonsaysitschristmas · 05/10/2019 07:18

I also don’t understand why you’ve waited up all night :S you could have phoned and told them you were going to bed so not to send anyone until Monday.

One weekend without a working alarm isn’t the end of the world

circleorsquare · 05/10/2019 07:20

Why is it stressing you out? I'm a bit confused, surely you just rebook?

I wish it was that easy for us . We haven’t been so lucky and have been burgled few times before hence we pay for 24 hours response.

I have contacted a local shop and they will be able to replace the battery for us.
