I've been subscribed on my phone to absolute radio for donkeys, dunno why i ever did it, but i get a message maybe three times a week saying something like 'you could win £12,000!! Reply WIN for 1 entry!!' etc etc. To reply costs £2.00 or something.
I never bother with these things cause i believe they're all a scam really. But wondered if anyone has ever won anything through a radio competition? Has anyone ever applied to one and actually won something? Dunno why but, i always believed the people you hear on the radio who answer a question and then win money are fake actors or something. Anyone?

I’ve won a few lots of £1000, a cruise, champions league tickets, flights, hotel etc, and various other things. Different radio stations. I can’t remember all the stations but definitely Classic FM and talk sport

I don’t know about absolute, but others are real, however it wasn’t as easy as it sounds.

This is going back to the days of MSN messenger, I was in a private radio competition group, it was very strict and you had to listen to the radio station that you were told, all day and report when a competition was coming up and all the answers onto the group chat. Some people had several phones for entering, although I didn’t.

Our group (which was only about 8 people) won so so many competitions. It was full on, very competitive and unfriendly, so my friend and I lasted about a month, but the prizes were wonderful. I have no idea if groups like this still exist, but it wouldn’t surprise me.
