Has anyone had this happen to them, I am a paternal grandparent and discovered my granddaughter is taping our conversations in our home. This has been done deviously how do I deal with it as we think it is an invasion of privacy. We suspect her Mother has put her up to it.

How old is granddaughter?
How did you find out?
How was she doing it?

How did you find out?

Is she using her phone?

How old is she?

Does she stay with you whilst parents work etc but doesn’t want to because in her eyes you are strict?

My Son realised when she left the room to presumably go the toilet and left her phone behind. This happened before with my other granddaughter when she was the same age 11 years old. I thought we had a good relationship but my Son has a contentious relationship with is ex and the children live with her. Despite a clean break divorce she constantly tells the children to ask him for more money.

Yes she did use her own phone, and no she does not spend time with us now when her Mother goes to work as she feels she doesn't need a babysitter.

We had a similar situation - my stepdaughter used to stand outside doors eavesdropping on our conversations and would text them to her mother. She was 11 at the time. Sadly despite us speaking to both her and her mother, matters got worse and she started fabricating things we had supposedly said and done. We ended up reducing contact as she was clearly unhappy and our attempts to try and address the situation just made things worse. You have my sympathy. It's a horrible situation.
