Care package for someone who's spending a lot of time in hospital visiting a sick family member?

My father had a major stroke last week, he's had extensive surgery and was in ITU for a bit. He's more stable now, but obviously we don't know the prognosis yet. It's been an horrendously stressful time for everyone. Spending whole nights awake in the hospital, fearing the worst.

My step-mother has taken the brunt of this. And on top of everything my sister (her daughter with my dad) has just started Uni so there's stress there too (it's all going well but the first few weeks can be difficult). And this also means that she's completely alone at home.

So I'd like to make a little care package for her, but I have no idea what to put in it! I thought about a book but I don't think she's got the concentration at the moment for that. She's constantly back and forth to the hospital.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

PS. NC for this as it's very, very outing but the detail is necessary.

Perhaps some snacks she can eat there, a gift card for whatever coffee shop is onsite, hand cream due to all the disinfectant she’ll be using at entry points in the hospital.

I hope your dad recovers well.

My mum dipped in and out of puzzle books when my dad was ill. I crocheted a blanket as something to occupy my mind and hands. What are her interests?

Can you organise a delivery of ready meals so she doesn't have to think about cooking? Does somewhere like Cook deliver inner area? I always worried that my mum wasn't eating properly.

In her area. Not inner

And sorry to hear about your father Flowers
