Veggie cooking question...

Coffee2sugars · 02/10/2019 18:08

We're having friends over next week for dinner, both of whom are veggies. I'm thinking of doing an Italian and including some nice homemade pizza and some Italian starters, salad, etc.

Can anyone recommend a high quality shop bought pizza base thats thin and won't look like I've just bought a frozen pizza Grin.

Any recommendations for starters gratefully received too as this vegetarian malarky is a mystery to me. Thanks

Waitrose 1 pizza.

Baked Camembert starter with crudités to dip?

It’s probably quicker and easier than going to a shop and I buy frozen chopped onions.

Pesto is not veggie btw.

Some versions of arancini are vegetarian, that's a lovely starter.

Thanks for the tips. Sadly we don't have a Waitrose near us so will have to try elsewhere. I've found some vegetarian pesto but thanks for the tip as I'd not realised it contains rennet.

I'm thinking for toppings we can have variations of mozzarella, olives, roasted peppers, artichokes, sun dried tomatoes, garlic oil, chilli oil, blue cheese etc. Any suggestions greatfully received...

It really varies on pesto but typically the jarred stuff isn't vege. I know co-op do vege fresh pesto think waitrose too. I've read a nice looking recipe on here Nigella Lawson Mexican (vegetarian) lasagne?
