Riveting washing detergent enquiry...

I've recently acquired some merino sports wear. The washing label says "use normal detergent".

Does this mean use my standard stuff?
Or use the woollen (non-bio) stuff?

As opposed to the stuff which says its for modern textiles/sportswear?

I would use my ordinary surf powder on that.

Interesting use of Merino wool in sportswear though. I thought it is famed for its warmth but sportswear is about keeping you cool?!
