Fortnite/XBox

I know this subject has been done to death on here and in the news to some extent, but DH and I had become completely fed up with the banging, shouting and just horrid behaviour displayed by DS(nearly 13) during games of Fortnite, and general poor attitude/behaviour at home and to a lesser degree, school too, so we have removed the Xbox completely and told him that he’s not getting it back, ever.

Technically it’s DH’s anyway but he never uses it.

The change in DS has been amazing, he’s calm, kind, and lovely to be around, basically the son that I had before he began playing Fortnite. I’ve even had a call from his HOY to say they’ve noticed a marked improvement in his behaviour and attitude over the past few weeks.

He’s started reading more, drawing again and interested in building models etc. I just cannot believe the change in him, he even said to me this morning that he feels happier in himself and that he’s not even bothered about it any more.

He does have an iPhone so communicates with his friends that way so we’ve not isolated him.

I just wish we’d have done it sooner, or at least stuck to our guns when we’ve removed it before!

That’s so good! Must be nice to have your son ‘back’
