Condensation

MotherOfLittlePeople · 02/10/2019 09:22

Does anyone with single glazed windows get really bad condensation? Any tips to help minimise it?

I open all windows as soon as we get up but with it getting colder I can't leave them open all day. It's really bad first thing on a morning.

Electric dehumidifier helped us in a conservatory/lean to. You can set a timer or it just goes on/off throughout the day when it’s detected moisture.

Anti fog spray is inexpensive and appears to be a popular choice on the internet.

Another option is window film.

More expensive is a dehumidifier.

A window vac will clean the moisture up quickly.

We had it on crap double glazing. Best thing I bought was a kacher window vac. Vac the windows when you get up in morning, it gets rid of so much moisture.

Then a dehumidifier.

Karcher window vac is the way to go. When its really cold i do them before bed and first thing. Also leave the windows open a crack whenever possible for as long as possible.

I've got a window vac but leaves the window streaky so then I have to wash them and do it again lol.

Didn't realise it would be this bad but seems to be getting worse the colder it gets.

Just get a couple of microfibre cloths and wipe over windows once vacced to get rid of any streaks. No need to wash them you are making more work for yourself.
