Cluster feeds

I had my second child 16 days ago. He’s healthy, I’m almost recovered, I feel very lucky, I’m trying to count my blessings.

But oh my god I had forgotten about the cluster feeds. The broken nights I can do, but in the evenings he just will not get off my boobs! I can’t move from the sofa, I have to eat one handed over his tiny head, I can’t drink water fast enough to keep up with how thirsty I am.

I didn’t put this in feeding because not looking for advice, I just want someone to tell me I can do this and it’s not forever and he’ll be starting school before I know it etc.

You can do it, it’ll be over in a flash and you’re doing amazingly Smile

Congratulations on your baby.

I remember in the first couple of weeks remembering how the advice was to have the remote, snacks, phone etc within reach and thinking well what would be the bloody point when I had to use both hands to feed. So you’re doing brilliantly!

Is someone bringing you nice food you can eat with a fork and leaving snacks around?

He'll settle down soon you're doing great!! DDs sides of her baby grows always had bits of food down them at that age.

I used to get people to cut my food up for me and hold her so I could eat it.

There are lots of good things on Netflix you can watch while you're glued to the sofa.

You can get through it!

You really forget don't you! But you can do it, and it'll quickly settle down.

You got this!

@AnneLovesGilbert @HappyPunky @Fluffsmum thank you so much, exactly what I needed to hear! Thank god for Netflix - how people survived this in days gone by I do not know.

I'm with you with my 1 week old. Its an exhausting time but it doesn't last. We can both do this!

Ah congratulations! I've got rose tinted specs from those days, DH used to make me a packed lunch and a flask of tea before he went to work, dinner would be something made out of mince so I could shovel it up with a spoon Blush
