Hi..first time posting..seeing a lovely lovely man for past 6 months..problem is he has no interest in going out on dates..we just stay in weekend after weekend with Saturday night tv..we arranged a date last week but he messaged to say he didn’t feel great and we could stay in and he would cook..I understand if he was short of cash or had anxiety problems about going out but it’s not the case! It all came to a head when he asked if I was ok as he sensed I wasn’t my usual happy self and I said I felt bored! He then said well maybe I should find someone more out going! And that he didn’t want to be the guy who made me miserable and well then that’s been it..no more messages although his Facebook status is still in a relationship with me...was I harsh saying I was bored? How do I rectify this? At the same time I don’t want to beg because I was hoping he said we could have a date night say once a month 😞

was I harsh saying I was bored?

No, I don't think you were harsh, you were just being honest with him, as you should be.

How do I rectify this?

He's basically told you you're not compatible. You have different ideas of how to spend your time together, he's basically saying he isn't going to change so he's 'letting you go'. Obviously it's completely up to you whether you want to continue a relationship with him, but be prepared to be bored every weekend if you do.

I had a boyfriend like that years ago. He had a high powered job where he had to be dynamic and outwardly he appeared as driven and an extrovert.

He absolutely hated socialising and all he wanted to do outside of work was stay at home and listen to music, watch movies and cook or have takeaways.

Sometimes it was wonderful as he was great company but the novelty wore off.....
