I cant help you but this is probably the wrong place to ask

calmpuppycrazykids · 01/10/2019 11:11

With my sons first appointment we both spoke with someone for about 20 minutes about why we were there
I then left the room for my son to talk privately and I was brought back and we discussed the things that they had talked about
Only what he wanted me to know
It has helped somewhat but it depends on what you are there for I suppose.

You'll go through all history, together to start and if you and your dd are happy you'll speak to people separately too. Our meetings to start were at least an hour long and you'll probably be given some questionnaires to do at home etc.
The first few visits is usually correlating data, getting a full picture of family life, your dd strengths and weaknesses etc.
Write things down before you go if you want to - any questions, particular concerns or particular behaviour etc and don't be afraid to write things down when you are there too - they understand it's alot for you both to take in too.
Wishing you the very best of luck - cahms were fab with my son and still are xx
If you want to ask me anything feel free xxx

We saw a nurse who basically triaged us by means of an hour long conversation covering all aspects of dd1's life.
