For me this year,

New pyjamas
New slippers
A fleece blanket for tv watching
A casserole dish

OP posts:

Baking potatoes.
Tinned pumpkin for baking pies.
Boots.
Scented candles.
I also do seasonal changes in my main sitting/living room, so summer colours change to gold, brown and touches of orange, yellow and red.

EleanorReally · 30/09/2019 07:56

butternut squash/pumpkins to make soup

ILiveInSalemsLot · 30/09/2019 07:59

Soup, stew, bread and cake ingredients.
New boots
A new board game

VenusClapTrap · 30/09/2019 08:06

New clog boots this year. They last years, so it’s very exciting to be replacing them!

Jealous of @TheAlternativeTentacle ‘s shiny new ratchet loppers.

fairydustandpixies · 30/09/2019 08:16

A new doo dib for lighting candles...can't for the life of me remember what they're called!!

Socksontheradiator · 30/09/2019 08:18

Crumpets!

9Greenbottles · 30/09/2019 08:18

I very much hoped this would be a thread about leaf blowers/vacuums and I would find some recommendations. We have lots of leaves falling 🌿

OtraCosaMariposa · 30/09/2019 08:24

Why does the turn of the seasons have to mean buying stuff? By all means get a new pair of boots or warmer clothes if your old ones are worn out or not fit for another winter.

But buying new stuff "just because" or changing colour schemes 4 times a year? Crazy. No wonder we're killing the planet.

MsMustDoBetter · 30/09/2019 08:25

Candles
Books
Ovaltine
Jigsaw puzzle

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 30/09/2019 08:27

A leaf vacuum (from Aldi)
Raincoat
Bamboo socks
Cashmere cardigan

GrimalkinsCrone · 30/09/2019 09:34

@OtraCosaMariposa, sorry, I wasn’t clear in my post.
The only things I buy new are stuff that gets used up. My seasonal change materials live in the loft, and I get them down when I need them. Some things are a year old, some are 200. But I do buy bits to add to them as and when.

LemonPrism · 30/09/2019 09:35

Many varieties of winter squash. Warm socks. An umberella because mine always get lost.

TeaAddict235 · 30/09/2019 09:53

This thread is a marketing wet dream.

"So team, are we ready for the new adverts this autumn?

Jackie what did you scoop from MN? What do the people want?

Jackie - " slippers, they want leaves falling, park rangers blowing leaves or raking them (environmentally friendly slant), they want hot chocolate, electric blankets and soup mugs..."

Alyssa- " so, they want the same thing that they want every year basically?"

Head of marketing "right team, hash out the Fall adverts from the last 15 years. I want an environment approach to the season change this year. "

uncomfortablydumb53 · 30/09/2019 14:56

A smaller slow cooker as it's just me and my dog here now

SapphireSeptember · 30/09/2019 16:27

Halloween things, make up, chocolate, apples, pumpkin spice hot chocolates from Starbucks (had two yesterday) and plaid shirts.

longearedbat · 30/09/2019 16:35

Just went to look at winter boots in the garden centre, and, argh! they have got christmas trees and decorations up in their fully functioning christmas section. It quite put me off browsing. It was the sight of all those twinkling lights on SEPTEMBER THE BLOODY THIRTIETH!
I have already bought a lovely new pair of boot type slippers though, so I am partly set up for winter.

Shopkinsdoll · 30/09/2019 16:37

Christmas smell candles, eg cinnamon spice

CakeNinja · 30/09/2019 16:40

Logs!! They came on Saturday, we are now set for the next few months.
Other than that, there’s nothing new we need although I do burn more candles during the colder months so at some point I’ll buy more.

Redshoesandtheblues · 30/09/2019 17:11

@cricketmum84, sorry to derail, but how much and how????

ExpletiveDelighted · 30/09/2019 17:56

Oooh yes, logs, we've still got quite q few from last year but will need some more.

cricketmum84 · 01/10/2019 11:02

@Redshoesandtheblues 6 stone since December! Started with ww online then the losses slowed down so switched to following 16:8 and I use My fitness pal to make sure I stay under 1400 calories per day. I've gone down almost 4 dress sizes and 4 calf width sizes hence the need for new boots 😂

avocadoincident · 01/10/2019 11:30

Wool for crochet and I start eating lots of mash potato.

Redshoesandtheblues · 04/10/2019 16:48

@cricketmum84 that is brilliant!!

dayslikethese1 · 04/10/2019 16:55

Boots (if old ones worn out)
PJs (ditto)
Hot chocolate
Candles that smell like apple/cinnamon/that kind of thing

dayslikethese1 · 04/10/2019 16:55

I really want a crumpet now Grin
