So we're having a party for DS 1st. Hired a hall, got soft play etc.

I've never put on a kids party before so these will be stupid questions I expect!

I'm doing party bags for a variety of ages, 1yo, 4yo, 6yo and 9yo. What can I put in that will be good for them all or shall I do different stuff? And what the hell do you put in 1yo party bag?! Everything is so small. I know they won't have a clue what it is or care but I want to do them. I was thinking bubbles, slice of bday cake and a toy but I'm not sure what toy. Don't want to spend loads obviously.

Secondly, music. Do I just play pop music? Nursery rhymes? Bloody baby shark on repeat as they're all obsessed?!🥴🤦🏼‍♀️

We're having about 40 people, mixture of family and friends. We've decided not to open presents at the party, that's the norm right? My nephew's 1st, they opened all the presents as we watched but it was mainly family so it didn't seem weird. I feel like it would be weird for us in front of so many people right?

In same boat but party for 5year old
Defo not open gifts there in order not to cause embarrassment to anyone.
Wow get you party bags for all ages I'm just doing a generic ones as they will all be same or around same age. Baker Ross is great for party bag ideas.
Book people for one year olds think book would be suffice.
I will have DJ they will just play age appropriate songs I.e no swearing pop songs played at a lower volume for little ears!I'm struggling with food ideas Confused
