32nd night in hospital - keep me company?

That's about it really! Tonight will be my 32nd night in hospital. I'm lonely and miserable and desperate to get out of here. Got no visitors today which isnt helping and I've watched more netflix/catch up than I thought was humanly possible. Can anyone please keep me company for a bit?!

Oh OP, that sounds awful.
I'm due to go to hospital in a weeks time and dreading being in for any length of time, hopefully just a few days, as I won't have any visitors as DH doesn't drive beyond our nearest village and we live almost 2 hours away.

Would it help to describe your environment and make up silly fanciful stories about the staff and other patients that we can add to on the thread? A sort of reality fake hospital drama?

pyjamas89 · 29/09/2019 15:50

Thanks for the encouragement.
Is it just me having problems with PMs or is that a general thing? Usually I access my inbox by clicking on the options on the top right (on website view) but loads of the menu seems to have disappeared and it's literally two round blue circle links that take me to active conversations. Am I being especially dense?!

Afraid I can’t help with the PMs as haven’t ever sent / received any.

Did you find something to keep you entertained?

JustHavinABreak · 29/09/2019 19:08

@pyjamas89 Just sent you a pm so hopefully a notification will pop up on your screen

Geppili · 29/09/2019 19:32

Have you tried audiobooks? They can be really good. Thanks

pyjamas89 · 29/09/2019 20:34

Thanks @JustHavinABreak seems to be back to normal now so not sure what was going on!

@Geppili great suggestion thanks. I’ve been listening to some that are on YouTube but I will log into the app I have for my library as I know there are some on there I can access too.

Well that's night 32 done.
sigh

Oh gawd you poor love! I am cooking tea for my dcs and being grateful to be well and at home. How are you doing?

pyjamas89 · 30/09/2019 18:59

Thanks for thinking of me @Geppili
Could do with some encouragment today.
Ended up on the floor (low BP, low blood sugar). I am meant to have review with Doctor and my community nurse tomorrow about discharge but I don't know what's happening with that, whether they can come (been on leave for a fortnight), what time it is. I mean I think I would be a bit stressed anyway but I'm autistic and on the verge of a complete MELTDOWN here. But no one seems to understand why it matters/is important to me. Ugh

The not knowing is definitely the worst. What are you planning on doing tonight to entertain yourself? Does the hospital have a shop that you can visit?

katycb · 30/09/2019 20:31

I did several long stints with pregnancy complications when pregnant with my twins. I attempted crochet (was rubbish at it) watched lots of tv, read a lot of books and did loads of online shopping. I did occasionally go down to Costa for a change of scene and a people watch...

Youngatheart00 · 30/09/2019 23:46

Hope you’re managing some rest tonight after your stressful day today. If the hospital food isn’t so good, is there a guilty pleasure a family member / friend could bring you in? My DH was in hosp for a long stint a few years back. I knew he was on the up when he asked me to smuggle in a McDonald’s cheeseburger!

Livebythecoast · 01/10/2019 16:17

@pyjamas89. Just checking in on you. How are you today?. I hope you've had some visitors. x

NotanotherboxofFrogs · 01/10/2019 20:30

@pyjamas89 Offers a handhold from one hospital ward to another.

I've just done a calculation to see how long I am here and it's 34 days so I totally get it.

We are working on physical and mental health combined.

I've been watching Netflix, MNing, reading kindle, I usually fall asleep at night to a film but couldn't tell you what's happening.

I go off the ward at least once a day just to escape.

Im going to groups and trying different stuff that I wouldn't normally try and eating and even right now I need to plan what to cook for lunch tomorrow with OT

Hold on in there and be patient with yourself, I don't have any visitors at all as Im out of the area so its a flight to come and see me. I knew that before I came

MrsMozartMkII · 01/10/2019 20:33

Popping in to say hello.

I hope the times have been confirmed lass.

birdling · 01/10/2019 20:41

I was in hospital for 2 months a few years ago. I actually enjoyed it after a while! I played a lot of solitaire on the computer. Hugs to you.

Pancakeflipper · 01/10/2019 20:43

Evening Pyjamas, hope your day hasn't been too grey and boring.

I had a 3 week stay in hospital and the only joy was the icecream I got with every evening meal.

NotanotherboxofFrogs · 02/10/2019 22:32

@pyjamas89 Hey how are you getting on? Have you got any move on re discharge plan? Hopefully, it will come together soon than later

pyjamas89 · 04/10/2019 07:12

Thanks for the positivity and encouragement all. I came home last night! It all happened really quickly in the end (I think some things probably were being sorted behind the scenes but there was a big lack of communication.) Still a way to go but I was so grateful to sleep in my own bed with a duvet last night!

Lovely to hear that you're home! I hope all goes well for you lass.

pyjamas89 · 04/10/2019 11:32

Thank you @MrsMozart
How are you getting on @ceilihouse?
