Is this service only for emergencies? My two year old has sores on her tonsils and a Temperature. She's really unwell but I'm not sure if the 111 service is the right number to call. Our doctors surgeries are closed.

Yes they also do online now try that

LittleMissNaice · 29/09/2019 08:54

No, not for emergencies, they'll be able to make you an out of hours GP appointment if they feel it's required.

If her tonsils are swelling get her to a&e, especially if she’s not taking any fluids. They can go downhill quickly.

Definitely phone 111 - that is what they are there for. They will be able to advise or book you an out of hours GP appt.

Yes 111 is the right number to call for an out of hours appointment. Sounds like your little one could do with being seen today and they can facilitate that

Thanks everyone. I called and she was seen by a doctor she has tonsillitis Sad unfortunately no where nearby had the antibiotics that she was prescribed so I had to drive 30 miles to the nearest boots.
