Preferred instruments for Mill Hill County

My DC is currently in year 4 and we are considering MHCS. She loves music and currently plays the piano. Can anyone suggest a second instrument we could play which could compliment the piano. Have been considering drums but not sure that is a good choice. Thanks

Everybody needs a good drummer. Or in this case, you could call it percussionist.

It's a great choice - not least because there are a couple of keyboard instruments that fit within the percussion section.

Viola. There's a massive shortage of viola players. It has a nicer tone than the violin, but she'll need to learn the alto clef. Violas are larger than violins, but you can buy them in violin size until the player is older and able to handle a larger instrument.
