DP is in hospital and has been diagnosed with pancreatitis.

I googled it (I know I shouldn't have) and have scared myself shitless Sad

Somebody tell me it's not that bad.

My DF had it when he was 45. He recovered fully but was very ill. I’m sorry you’re going through this!
Do you know what caused it?

millysmoo · 29/09/2019 00:27

I’ve had it. About 20 times. I had a gallstone, which blocked a duct and caused the pancreatitis. I had attacks almost weekly and every time ended up in hospital, even on critical / intensive care It only stopped when I had the gallstones removed.

I can’t tell you it’s not that bad. I have had (quite a few) children and the pain supersedes labour by 1000x. However, at least they know what it is and will (hopefully) find out what’s caused it.

Depending on the cause, pancreatitis can be a total one off or in severe cases chronic. Hopefully your partner will be in the one off category.

Hope he feels better soon op.

I've got a friend who has it. It's pretty serious. She was very unwell.
