And now Annie Hall one of my favourite films.

It was so sad at the end. And horrible what happened to the son and those other children on the Island.

Sniffs!

BringMeTea · 28/09/2019 23:14

Very good. Moving.

UrsulaPandress · 28/09/2019 23:16

I've recorded it.

Also love Annie Hall.

"It's ok, I can walk to the kerb from here." 😂

EachandEveryone · 28/09/2019 23:16

I know it was so touching. It amazes me how people find all the old footage.

It was excellent, sad at the end, always a bit hard watching people looking all young and vibrant that are now no longer with us. I must dig out my Leonard Cohen at the Isle of Wight DVD and rewatch that

@franciscrawford - it was "Marianne & Leonard - Words of Love". BBC2 last night at 9pm. Well worth watching. I found it really moving.
Also interesting in that it was a "warts & all" picture of our hero; he was quite emotionally abusive to her in some ways.

Did nobody think she was a flakey obsessed idiot?
When they dropped Axel at boarding school aged 8!! That's when I had tears. It was obvious that the poor thing wouldn't survive and he didn't, did he?

thelikelylass · 29/09/2019 14:25

watching this now, isn't it beautifully made?

pontiouspilates · 29/09/2019 14:30

I saw this at the cinema, it's excellent. Her poor son really did pay the price though didn't he.

AuntieMarys · 29/09/2019 14:33

I am a huge LC fan but he didn't come across well. I imagine Hydra was full of self absorbed artists who treated their women badly.
Poor Axel.

EachandEveryone · 29/09/2019 20:11

She was like a groupy though never really knew when to give up even when the wife came to move into the house. The guys that were still alive haven’t aged well, have they?Smile I loved the older woman that was talking was she Australian? I’ve seen her before.

They were a stunning couple. I love that era even though I wasn’t born til 68. The drugs must’ve been better then do you think?

He was mean and he knew it.
