Does anyone know anything about GoPros?

I'm looking at getting one for DP's birthday. Will mainly be used for skiing and general family stuff.

Is the Hero 7 Black worth the huge jump
In price?

I'm thinking of the Hero 7 Silver as middle of the road. We aren't particularly tech savvy and just not sure we would see the benefit to justify the price of the Black?

Will I really regret it? I'm driving myself mad reading reviews.

I got one for scuba diving and got a nice bag, floating handle, spare battery and waterproof case. But I haven't got round to using it yet but friend who got one really loves hers.
