Pompoms. What to do with them

After each knitting or crochet project I turn the spare wool into pompoms.
The colours do not blend as they range from pastels to dark earthy tones.
I have lots!

I've just made myself a pompom rug.

It contains 500+ pompoms and now has pride of place in my living room. It's not chic or high fashion but it's something I made and I'm proud of!

I've also done a garland which decorates the back of a door.

For ideas I looked on Pintrest and Etsy.

Wow! love that rug.
I'm afraid my pompoms aren't so colour co-ordinated.
I could make more garland wreaths...

Make them into christmas tree baubles.

Ohyesiam · 27/09/2019 23:24

Leave them on the sofa and let your kittens destroy themHmm( I love them, but...)

Fairyfellowsmasterstroke · 27/09/2019 23:30

@Sicario the colours I used for the rug were from the Stylecraft Special DK collection and were:-
Cream
Pale Rose
Walnut
Silver
Mocha
Powder Pink

It was a labour of love which lasted several months!!!!!

The garland was various yarns and colours which I'd accumulated over the years.

Fairyfellowsmasterstroke · 27/09/2019 23:32

OOps - there was also a parchment in there as well!!!

SilverHawk · 27/09/2019 23:40

What did you sew them on to?
I've also got loads of Attic24 leftovers and randoms from making slippers.

I love Attic 24 - I'm actually drowning in her blankets!!!
And Yarnfest starts tomorrow!!!

This is what I sew my pom poms onto.

Once I've attached my pom poms I secure them with a glue gun for extra security.

Me too, with the blankets. They're ace aren't they.
Many thanks for the backing. My DD gave me a glue gun last Christmas and I haven't used it yet.

Yoohoo16 · 27/09/2019 23:59

Not much advice from me but just wanted to say to fairy that rug is brilliant and I love the garland. I love anything multi coloured so that’s right up my street.

NooNooHead · 28/09/2019 00:02

Forgive my stupidity - I read the title too quickly and thought you were asking about what to do with popadoms.... (mmmm... popadoms!)

Logical answer is to eat them of course.

As for pompoms... yes, attaching them onto things works well. Eating them, perhaps not quite as much...

Soola · 28/09/2019 00:58

Make them into bookmarks and sell and give money to charity or give to a charity when they hold an event for them to sell.
