Princess Beatrice's fiance

Press is reporting that Beatrice's fiance Edoardo has a 2 year old son and was previously engaged to the baby's mother. Supposedly he was still living with the ex when he started dating Beatrice. I don't want to link to the Daily Mail but this all seems rather...surprising?

Without wishing either of them ill, I can't help thinking that the curse of 'marry in haste, repent at leisure' will have Bea, and her cousin Harry, heading for the divorce court in the not too distant future.

I think Harry might weather it, but I'd put money on Bea's marriage not lasting long. I think she's rushed into this too quickly.

I’ve never heard anything to suggest that her and her sister are anything other than nice decent girls.

Me neither, and I think they've been on the receiving end of some undeserved flak over the years.

I hope Beatrice is happy, I just think this sounds like a rebound relationship, and that after splitting with her partner of 10 years, then her sister getting married, it's a bit rushed.

I'd like to be wrong!

So what? At least he's morally better than her father.

What a nasty thread with some horribly bitchy comments dressed up in faux support for someone who they don’t know and have got zero understanding of the circumstances.

Until they hear that the ex is in fact a highly successful architect with a global business and isn’t sat at home sobbing in her dressing gown front of episodes of Loose Woman and making her own playdo. Then the sympathy moves to the child who must have an awful upbringing.

So what? I imagine she's having a horrific time at the moment.
She's a grown woman who can weigh up the circumstances and make her own decisions about who to marry.

never let the truth get in the way of a good story DM mantra? or lets sensationalized some abstract gossip which if we were ordinary folk no one would bat an eyelid at. Or make heroes & heroines of people only to tear them down later when there is nothing else to write about - great British newspaper past time or sport.

That wouldn't be hard .
