Waiting on the locksmith- I've never lost my keys before- anyone up for a chat. I'm on the doorstep waiting

Hope it's not too wet!

PatricksRum · 27/09/2019 02:17

Ah I remember forgetting my keys and taking continuous busses all night till I could get a spare from my landlord!
How long did they say they would take?

dingdang · 27/09/2019 02:21

Thank you I'm so good with keys usually but somehow lost them earlier- it's cold and I feel like a twassock

OP posts:
dingdang · 27/09/2019 02:22

They said twenty minutes

Typically my boyfriend had a set of spare keys but gave them back yesterday

It's cold...,

PatricksRum · 27/09/2019 02:26

I bet it's freezing.
:( Hopefully they won't be too long and you can get into some comfy pj's!
Are they replacing the entire lock?

NextTrainGoesToBEROWRA · 27/09/2019 02:39

Oh you poor thing!

When I go out I have keys in my bag and the spares in my pocket, I’m so scared of getting locked out.

NextTrainGoesToBEROWRA · 27/09/2019 02:41

This might cheer you up.

Oh no! We got one of those key safe things in the end, after I locked myself out for the last time.

It contains the key to the side gate, which has a shed with another key hidden to the second shed, which has a key hidden to the back door..

MamatoAnK · 27/09/2019 09:01

Ha ha ha I like confuseddotcottons super secure spare key routine! If only I had as many sheds.

Confuseddotcotton · 27/09/2019 09:29

I know, it’s like a challenge in the crystal maze to get in to the house using the spare key..

MamatoAnK · 27/09/2019 14:17

😂

NextTrainGoesToBEROWRA · 27/09/2019 15:35

The keysafe and many secret sheds are a great idea! I never would have thought of that.

NextTrainGoesToBEROWRA · 27/09/2019 15:36

Glad you got in, dingdang .

Did you have to prove that you lived there?

BMW6 · 27/09/2019 17:38

Crikey I wonder how much he charged for a call out at that time of the morning? Shock

TheSecondMrsAshwell · 27/09/2019 17:53

I keep a spare Yale key in my purse. That way, if I shut my front door with the keys inside, I can still get back in.

Wouldn't have helped in this sitch, but just my tip of the week.

dingdang · 30/09/2019 07:18

I didn't have to prove I lived there but I had my drivers licence. I
Don't want to say how much it cost to remove a yale lock and a deadlock and replace the lock but it was extortionate, over £500 😞. Even more annoyingly it turns out I'd left my keys in my jacket at work! But callout is covered by my home insurance and I've ordered a key safe. So the expensive mistake will not be repeated!
