Mirena coil

Hi all. I had a Mirena coil fitted 2 weeks ago, no pain or discomfort on fitting, some mild cramping and spotting since but nothing major. Started with what I thought was an “irregular period” 2 days ago, bleeding lighter than usual though. Today, I’ve started with an intense abdominal pain on the left hand side with lower back pain on the left and pain in my left leg. I’d be grateful if anyone else could tell me if they’ve had a similar experience?x

I had horrendous pain 2 days later, ended up being scanned to make sure it hadn't stuck in muscle, perforation was ruled out by internal exam.

It hadn't. Was sore for a good week, then it eased thankfully. Contact your GP Treatment room to check can they see the strings and get a referral to your local maternity for a quick scan if they think it's necessary.

I've had thus in near 2 months now and to be honest it's really only settling. Everyone different tho.

Can you get yourself checked out asap. Better to be safe than suffer in silence.
