Lavender and breastfeeding!

Help! Momentary PFB panic. I was having a relaxing bath this evening and filled the sink with hot water and 20 drops of lavender essential oil to make the bathroom smell good and afterwards suddenly had a panic that this might not be ok to do if you’re breastfeeding?! I’m currently airing out the house and having a flap! Someone reassure me please!

It’s absolutely fine. There’s no way you could inhale/consume a medicinal level of lavender without really trying. I use a natural lavender soap to bathe in every night and have since my now toddler was probably 3 months. If baby is very young and shut in the room with you, it could be a bit irritating to the airways, but it doesn’t sound like that was the case. Hope you enjoyed your bath!

Wonderful thank you so much! The post-bath-flapping kind of undid the relaxing qualities of the lavender 😂 nevermind!
